David Heinemeier Hansson is the creator of Ruby on Rails which is an open-source web framework that is optimized for programmer happiness and beautiful code. Ruby on Rails was used to build Twitter, Shopify, 500px, and Github. David is a partner at 37signals which makes software for the web including the popular project management and collaboration application Basecamp as well as the simple CRM solution Highrise and the group chat app Campfire. David is a best-selling author. He co-wrote the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Sunday Times best selling book Rework with Jason Fried . He is also the co-author of the new book REMOTE: Office Not Required which will be released during the Fall of 2013. David is also a public speaker, race-car driver, hobbyist photographer, and family man.
